At CEDIA 2023, Stewart Filmscreen showed BlackHawk UST Light Rejecting Material and Balón Edge Frame. They also partnered with L-Acoustics, StormAudio, Barco Residential, Kaleidescape, and Odysound to conduct immersive audio demos.
The new BlackHawk UST is a light-rejecting material for Ultra Short Throw (UST) projectors. It uses a lenticular structure to redirect up to 82% of the overhead light, while still allowing projector light to return. The lenticular surface results in good black levels without the need to completely blackout the viewing space.
The Balón Edge Frame is the most progressive wraparound frame available on the market. Dealers can choose Balón Edge with a minimal, half-inch black over-scan border, giving on-screen content perceived contrast and a crisp edge. Or choose Balón Borderless where there is no black border, allowing the image on the screen to appear to float in the room.
